Summary: The Hotel Moderne exceeded my expectations, and you can’t beat the location! The hotel itself is beautiful and grand, and the room was very large and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed and more. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. I had dinner one night at the hotel restaurant, and it was an excellent experience with friendly, attentive service and delicious food. I actually wish I would have had planned to have more of my meals here. The location is very close to the Basilica, grotto, etc. which is so convenient, especially after the late torchlight procession (perfect for solo travelers!). I felt safe walking back with many other pilgrims walking that direction, too. The front desk staff was so helpful for everything I needed, including understanding the schedule of events at the Sanctuary and navigating a shuttle/bus to the local airport. I would highly recommend The Hotel Moderne and hope to visit again next time I visit Lourdes.
